Macy’s Flower Show 2012

Macy’s Herald Square, the world’s largest department store, presents its annual Flower Show – Brazil: Gardens in Paradise, March 25 – April 7, 2012.

Macys Flower Show 2012 This year’s display breaks tradition by taking place in a large tent on the Broadway Plaza in front of the store. (The show’s usual setting, the landmark Art Deco main floor, is undergoing renovation).

Inside the tent, Macys’ floral and visual designers have created a tropical paradise, brimming with exotic flora of Brazil.  To the sounds of sultry Samba music and exotic birdcalls, you’ll meander through lush, colorful gardens, towering palms, unique wonders from the Amazon rainforest…even a footbridge beside a waterfall.

Be sure to also see the store’s Broadway windows, which are overflowing with Brazilian flowers and glittering Carnival costumes.  The stunning visuals, combined with the sensual Samba music, may bring out your inner Carioca.

Macys Flower Show 2012 The smaller 34th Street windows will feature “Bouquet of the Day,” each created by one of NYC’s most celebrated floral designers.

For more information about the Flower Show and its schedule of related events, see the store’s website.
