Wanna be part of a real “flash mob”? Well, grab your skivvies and Metrocard and join the No Pants Subway Ride 2012!
The No Pants Subway Ride is an annual event staged by Improv Everywhere, described as “an international celebration of silliness.” This year over 50 cities worldwide will participate. The idea behind No Pants is simple: Random passengers board a subway car at separate stops in the middle of winter…without pants. The participants do not behave as if they know each other, and they all wear winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. The only unusual thing is their lack of pants.
This year’s event takes place Sunday, January 8th. NYC participants will gather at 3:00pm at six designated meeting points.
The only requirements for participation are:
1. Willing to take your pants off on the subway
2. The ability to keep a straight face. (Pants-free participants are asked not to interact with one another or take photos, but act as if they’ve merely forgotten to wear their pants.)
