Walks of New York celebrates the launch of its New York City walking tours by offering special preview tours for only $5.00.  In observance of National Walking Day, all tour proceeds will go to the American Heart Association to support their healthy heart initiatives.

Walks of New York is a brand extension of Walks of Italy, the well-known European tour experience that helps travelers avoid long lines and gain special access to popular sites.  Walks of New York will provide the same high-quality, small group insider tours that have won Walks of Italy praise from Fodor’s, The Daily Telegraph, AFAR Magazine and USA Today.

Highlights of New York Tour  – Allow us to introduce you to New York, helping you get the most from your visit by getting you oriented and sharing the stories and history that make the city so unique.  We’ll uncover the secrets of Grand Central Terminal, Rockefeller Center, the Chrysler Building, the New York Public Library, and Times Square. Our Highlights of New York Tour delves into the heart of Gotham, exploring the architectural gems and historic landmarks of Midtown Manhattan.

Lower East Side Stories: Traditional New York Culture & Food – New York’s Lower East Side has been home to immigrants for two centuries and played a significant role in shaping America.  We’ll journey through the fascinating neighborhood, exploring its historic sites and learning how the immigrants lived, worked, worshiped and celebrated.  We’ll visit a historic synagogue, tour the neighborhood’s distinctive shops and galleries, and taste some its classic foods, including fresh pickles, bagels and old-world delicatessen.  Along the way, we’ll encounter some of the neighborhood’s intriguing residents, and hear stories of its famous denizens…and infamous gangsters.

The tour concludes at B&H Photo’s superstore, where you’ll enjoy an exclusive demonstration of the latest photography equipment & gadgets.
