GET MORE FROM YOUR STATUE EXPERIENCE

The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are among the most fascinating sites in NYC. But without knowing how many New Yorkers it took to get Lady Liberty on her feet, how could you know how special she is? Or at Ellis Island, if you didn’t know how difficult the immigration process was (and how terrible the journeys before that!), how could you understand the tension that hung in the air? Or the overwhelming relief felt by every immigrant upon their first step on US soil?

Get the context behind these iconic sights on our guided Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty tours, traveling in small groups of 20 people or fewer with only the best, most interesting (and fun!) NYC tour guides; ensuring that you get the most from your once-in-a-lifetime visit.

Catch an early ferry (with priority boarding) to arrive at Liberty Island before the crowds!

With priority group boarding, we’ll be amongst the first people on one of the first ferries to Liberty Island; so you arrive before the hoards for a little more peace and quiet.

Here your guide will give you a quick tour of the island, including the most incredible views back over Lower Manhattan, pointing out landmarks such as Freedom Tower. Then it’s on to the highlight of our morning – a guided Statue of Liberty tour

Pedestal access gives you a special view*

Our Statue of Liberty tour has one huge advantage over an independent visit – pedestal access! Your tour will start at the base of the statue, where your guide will tell you about the history of the structure. You’ll hear how Lady Liberty arrived as a gift from France, created by the country’s best architects, including one pretty famous engineer, Gustav Eiffel. She arrived by boat, but when she got to New York, the funding needed to build the pedestal wasn’t forthcoming. Hear the incredible story of how Lady Liberty got on her feet, before climbing up to the pedestal level to get a little closer to the statue and to enjoy uninterrupted views across the city harbor.

Explore one of NYC’s most fascinating museums and sites, with a guided Ellis Island tour

Then it’s back on the ferry and on to Ellis Island. They say that the Statue of Liberty was the first thing new immigrants saw of America, but Ellis Island was the second, – and probably the more memorable. Here, 12 million new arrivals were processed through the immigration center, with some granted access and others quarantined or sent home.

On your guided tour of the Ellis Island Museum, you’ll learn all about that process, hearing stories of the journeys undertaken by people from all around the world – by choice or necessity – and what happened once they arrived. You’ll see the Stairs of Separation and understand how the few feet between left and right made a world of difference; plus the famous Kissing Post.

At the end of your tour, you’re welcome to join your guide on the ferry back to Battery Park or spend some more time at your leisure enjoying the incredible interactive displays at Ellis Island.

You’ll learn more about the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island than you ever could have on your own or with an audio guide. And with all tickets and priority boarding arranged in advance, you’ll be able to sit back, relax and truly enjoy two of NYC’s most popular attractions.

*Please be aware that the Statue of Liberty pedestal access requires a 215-step climb, with no elevator access. Please note this tour does not include a visit to the Statue of Liberty's Crown, due to security measures in place by the National Park Services who manage the Statue of Liberty.

Dan did a great job. As a teacher myself, I could see Dan explaining in ways that could reach everyone. He was very perceptive of the group personality, Also WALKS does a great job with instructions and communication

Dan was awesome and kept the kids interested by engaging them right off the bat. Pace was a little quick, but the heat was probably a factor.

Mark was our tour operator. His voice projected well and he was very good. Again, no headsets, which I believe is a detriment to the overall tour experience and being clustered close together to get information about things.

This was amazing. While getting off to a slow start (Amanda was running late because of an incident on the subway); the tour was amazing. She was able to answer questions, kept the tour on track; gave attendees time for photos and even suggested places for lunch. Great time and wonderful tour guide.
Mark was informative and personable. We had an excellent tour and would definitely use again.

Amanda was lovely. So well spoken, engaged with everyone on the tour. Knew the history inside out but was able to keep it entertaining. Also very good at dealing with difficult customers on the tour and keeping the disruption for the rest of the group to a minimum. We had a lady using a motor scooter on our Statue of Liberty tour, who was able to walk but had chosen to bring her scooter along. It did cause a quite a few instances where the group had to wait for the scooter to be accommodated. Amanda kept everyone as entertained as possible and was extremely patient with the guest on the scooter. Would recommend.
Mark was a fantastic guide with a great depth of knowledge in the subject matter. The tour went over on time, causing me to worry a bit about making it to my afternoon World Trade Center tour. I would highly recommend future tourists to split the tours between separate days rather than a full day, as you can spend a lot more time at Ellis Island.

Tour guide was great, have recommended to friends already. Only item I was unhappy about was standing in lines. Tour description said priority boarding, but this did not occur.

Uncle Jeffy was fantastic. Look for the guy with the black tophat!!!
Sandra has been amazing! She kept all the group together and engaged for the whole tour providing tons of information about the sites visited. My family and I really enjoyed the tour and Sandra attitude. I will highly recommend her. Thanks again for the great experience.
Our tour guide was amazing and despite windy weather we had a lot of fun in our tour. I really loved all the details we heard. Without this tour I would know very little about Statue of Liberty ja Ellis Island. We also heard more information about the surrounding area and it was nice to know.
The information that I received when I purchased the tour was a little vague regarding what would happen after the Ellis Island portion of the tour. My confirmation email did not tell us what time to meet for the 9/11 tour. Thankfully, Mark knew. We were also kind of rushed leaving Elis Island. Mark advised that we leave by 2, but there wasn't a ferry at 2. We barely missed the 145 ferry, and the next one didn't depart until about 220. Thankfully, we did make the 9/11 tour on time (and I called ahead to let you know we might be late), but you might want to provide additional info in the comformation email just so people aren't confused about the transition.
good explanation of history, enough time to see all,
Excellent Tour..... the tour guide was super knowledgeable.... which made the entire tour!!!! 5 stars!!!!
The tour was great. It was enjoyed by all. And Jeff was/is a terrific tour guide. He was very informative and entertaining. I also believed he enjoyed our group as we had tremendous interaction with him. We highly recommend this tour.
Once again, Walk of New York provided an exceptional opportunity for learning more about the magnificent landmarks of NYC. Our guide, Sandy, was able to answer all our questions and provided a wealth of information about The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. A trip to NYC wouldn't be complete without one of your walks. Thank you!
JEFFREY WAS TERRIFIC HE IS A REAL ASSET TO YOUR COMPANY WONDERFUL STORIES AND KNOWLEDGEABLE AS WELL
Nice walk, alot more fun than I thought. Would recommend to family and friends!!
Rob is so knowledgeable and a great tour guide. Loved it.

It was a great experience and I learnt so much!
It was a very interesting walk and we learnt so much.
When I made reservations, I signed up and paid for a grouping of three tours. I thought that I would have the same guide and would be guided to starting place for the 9/11 tour. We had a great, very extensive, tour of Ellis Island. I became a little concerned that we were running low on time when we didn't arrive at the Statue of Liberty until after 12:00 noon. It was then that I found out that our third tour, the World Trade Center with 9/11 Memorial Museum, was up to us to get to on our own. Since we were looking forward to that tour, our guide suggested that we take the 1:30 ferry back to Battery Park so that we would have enough time to find our own way to St. Paul's Chapel by 3:00. Therefore, we broke away from our guided tour at the Statue of Liberty and did our own tour. I was a bit disappointed that we did not have enough time to get our "paid for" guided tour. Our guide was very good, but the pacing did not work for us.

Mark was a wonderful guide!!!
Christin did a great job with our tour. We really enjoyed our time at the Statue and on Ellis Island. Only thing I would change is that the time on Ellis Island felt a bit rushed. Thanks, Moeller Family
Ms Nikki was very good
my entire experience with walks of ny was wonderful. price was fair - no gouging for a private tour. jeff was accommodating, responsive and easy to work with. mark was the PERFECT guide, a wealth of information, a joy to be around and did everything he could to create a positive experience; he actually laid on the ground to insure that the pictures he took of us had the statue in view!!! i will, absolutely book with you again and recommend you to my friends.
The tour guide was wonderful and knew her stuff concerning the statue of liberty and Ellis Island and made the tour fun and informative. We enjoyed it thoroughly and would do it again

Jerry was very knowledgeable and made many fascinating points. He perfected getting everyone's picture in front of the Statue and that turned out very well and a priceless part of our trip. I would never recommend anyone take a self guided tour when this is available - well worth the money!
